The wife of newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, is dead.
We learnt that Hajiya Maryam Abubakar died today in a local hospital in Kano, after a battle with cancer.
Hajiya Maryam Abubakar will be buried later today according to Islamic rites.
MD Abubakar was appointed the new IG last week to succeed Hafiz Rigim.
